Background

The way to solve this problem is to preserve and restore nature, but we don't have enough attention or funding going in this direction. Markets have proven to be more motivating than altruism or self-preservation, but this is the reality we are living in. We need to tap into the motivating power of financial markets to bring in more funding and labor to help us save our planet. That's why Solid World DAO was created to empower projects aiming to save our planet.
Introduction
Solid World is building blockchain infrastructure for forwarding carbon credits, offering narrow banded liquidity pools for different types of carbon projects. In the traditional markets, all of these deals are done behind closed doors or "over the counter" (OTC), so there is no clear market price. The platform Solid World builds will bring a market price to these assets while bringing more market liquidity.
As the world's first public-good infrastructure for transparent and liquid forward carbon credits, Sweetgum Labs help carbon investors de-risk their forward deals and make them liquid. This enables them to earn a yield on their forward credits to become more capital efficient, easily rebalance their portfolio or collateralize their forwards to take out loans against them.
This will be the first time that a public market price will be created for different types of carbon projects.
Goal
These are very specific pain points in the growing carbon markets identified by Solid World Founder and Chairman Stenver Jerkku. Stenver had first-hand experience in the industry with a successful agritech business that he co-founded called eAgronom, which helped to bootstrap Solid World DAO in the early stages of its development.
The goal of the infrastructure is to drive more carbon space investments and help stop climate change. They have partnered with multiple key players in the space like SCB, Emsurge, Toucan, Flowcarbon, and many others.
