Background
With the development of technology, humans created tools that make their life more convenient but bring more pollution to our world.
Some questions arise: is it possible to use crypto to change the world in a positive way? And is it really Web3 if we are building without considering our impact in real life? When the FF set out to create this project, they knew they had an opportunity to use NFTs for good.
Furthermore, the project is looking to help change the negative narrative around crypto by proving there's a real-world utility that could benefit everyone in the long run. By supporting regenerative initiatives, they also want to onboard people interested in new ways of collaborating and creating a community using blockchain technology and its benefits.
Introduction
Friend Forest is a generative PFP collection created by Argentinian artist Flora Márquez. What is the goal? To put together an environmentally-conscious community of people who believe in the power of art, crypto, and NFTs to create a positive impact on our planet.
The project’s first drop aimed at supporting regenerative initiatives through donations to Trees for the Future and smaller-scale operations working on permaculture and syntropic farming.
Now, Friend Forest is working on FF 2.0. The goal is to create a decentralized community that continues to support projects doing good for the planet while spreading the environmental message through art and collaborations.
How does it work
The project was launched on Joepegs' launchpad on July 25th 2022. It was a straightforward process, with a pre-sale mint period (GreenList) followed by a public sale. On Aug 3rd, Friend Forest made their first donation to Trees for the Future.
Now they are minting out the rest of the collection to move to phase two.
Unique Features
When it comes to unique and innovative features, the first aspect is the artwork. The unique characters make the collection stand out from other generative NFT projects. Friend Forest also set out to create an NFT community around the environment on Avalanche, which they pioneered as a cause-oriented project. They also focused on regeneration and opened the door for smaller-scale operations.
